Denver's housing stock changes what a laundry delivery looks like from one neighborhood to the next, and it is usually the building rather than the machine that decides how a delivery goes.

Central neighborhoods like Baker, Platt Park, Capitol Hill and Congress Park are dominated by pre-war bungalows, Victorians and small brick apartment buildings. In these, laundry connections are most often in an unfinished basement reached by a narrow, steep staircase with a turn at the bottom. That stair is the single most common reason a delivery needs planning rather than just a time slot. Doorframes in houses of this age are also frequently narrower than the 28 inches a full-size machine wants, and interior basement doors are narrower still.

Downtown and the close-in conversions are the opposite problem: the machines go into a closet, often stacked or side-by-side in a space built to the inch. Closet depth, door swing and whether the door can come off its hinges are what matter there, along with building rules about which elevator can be used and when.

Newer construction across the northeast of the city and the redeveloped areas around the old airport site generally has purpose-built main-floor or upper-floor laundry with modern 240-volt outlets and adequate clearances. Those are straightforward deliveries.

Parking is worth a sentence of its own. Many central Denver blocks are permit-only or have no off-street access, and alley access varies block by block. Telling us where a truck can legitimately stop for twenty minutes prevents most delivery-day friction.
